This working meeting and catered breakfast was created to impact solidarity and collaboration around women’s freedom from violence in Greater Miami! On May 10th the focus will be on keeping our community’s children safe. In late 2013, a community conversation was begun to share ideas and address the intertwined forms of violence against women.

One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. The campaign began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime adding up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. The world rises as grassroots activists are determined to create a new kind of consciousness where violence will be resisted until it is unthinkable.

Throughout 2018, the Women’s Fund Miami-Dade will be undertaking key initiatives to help every woman and girl in our county. When women are strong, our community is strong, and our country is strong. There’s always something you can do!

Please RSVP to fran@womensfundmiami.org as space is limited.
