Jam Night | Lean on Me: A Concert by and for Miami

Challenge Yourself To Connect

During the 10 Days of Connection, challenge yourself to connect across lines of difference. There are many ways to do that: share a meal with someone you wouldn’t normally cross paths with, read a book or watch a movie that highlights the beauty of connection, take part in #MiamiWalks to get to know a new neighborhood, etc.! Check out and RSVP to the many opportunities to connect below, and if you’d like to host a connection experience, learn more on the Host page!

Music is a universal language that unites us all. What better way to bridge our differences so we can better connect and understand each other? This event will do just that, and hope that by coming together through music, we can all celebrate each other while sparking greater empathy and understanding in Miami.

So join Miamians from all walks of life and from all over our community to experience music together–both music we love and some that might be new to us. This Connect Miami event features classical, rock, salsa, and more, performed by: Guitars Over Guns, New World Symphony, Arts for Learning, Young Musicians Unite and Camillus House.

You’ll want to stay until the end, when all attendees will come together for a community sing-along of “Lean on Me,” co-performed by all of the artists and the audience. The evening of music will then continue with a jazz set from 9:00 – 11:00 PM, courtesy of the Guitars Over Guns mentor band. Everyone is welcome!

Accessibility: The organizers seek to make this event as accessible as possible to individuals of all different abilities and needs and will provide moveable seating for people with disabilities. Upon request, they can make it accessible for anyone with mobility issues and can provide an American Sign Language interpreter. For questions or in need of additional accommodations, please send an email to marte.siebenhar@nws.edu at least 24 hours in advance of the event.
