Challenge Yourself To Connect
During the 10 Days of Connection, challenge yourself to connect across lines of difference. There are many ways to do that: share a meal with someone you wouldn’t normally cross paths with, read a book or watch a movie that highlights the beauty of connection, take part in #MiamiWalks to get to know a new neighborhood, etc.! Check out and RSVP to the many opportunities to connect below, and if you’d like to host a connection experience, learn more on the Host page!

#MiamiWalks | 15+ Neighborhood Tours
May 4 - May 6
#MiamiWalks is part of a global walking movement called Jane’s Walk and Naomi L. Ross, founder of Celebrate Diversity Miami, is your City Organizer. These kind of walks, inspired by a writer and activist from the 1960s named Jane Jacobs, have engaged tens of thousands of people all over the world in 200+ cities since 2007. Locally in neighborhoods across Miami-Dade County we have been coordinating a variety of unique, free, citizen-led walking tours where attendees can actively connect with friends and neighbors outdoors, while engaging in conversations with one another and learning more about the city they live in.
This year’s main event weekend takes place May 4 – 6, 2018. You’ll have an opportunity to explore one or more of the following communities with fellow Miamians who are passionate about connecting with others and have volunteered to be Walk Leaders: Little Havana, Brickell, Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, Overtown, Shenandoah, Design District, South Miami, Doral, North Miami, Miami River, Allapattah, and Wynwood. These walks are made possible with support from the Knight Foundation, an incredible network of community partners, and fantastic volunteers!

Accessibility: #MiamiWalks seeks to make our tours as accessible as possible to individuals of all different abilities and needs. For questions or in need of additional accommodations, please send an email to email@example.com at least 24 hours in advance of the neighborhood walk you’ve signed up to attend.
