Challenge Yourself To Connect
During the 10 Days of Connection, challenge yourself to connect across lines of difference. There are many ways to do that: share a meal with someone you wouldn’t normally cross paths with, read a book or watch a movie that highlights the beauty of connection, take part in #MiamiWalks to get to know a new neighborhood, etc.! Check out and RSVP to the many opportunities to connect below, and if you’d like to host a connection experience, learn more on the Host page!

Collisions: Cultivating Connectivity
May 25, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Come mix, mingle and connect at the Venture Cafe Miami Thursday Gathering! This specially themed iteration of Venture Cafe’s signature Thursday Gathering will include a wide array of connection experiences that range from meditation sessions, stories about entrepreneur journeys, conversation in foreign languages, a dance class, creative design workshops, a Connect Four tournament, and more! The entire experience is taking place thanks to the contributions of several Miami-area organizations: CIC Miami, Mindful Kids Miami, PS 305, Rainbow Caps, Disability Independence Group, Urgent Inc. (YES Camp Mentors and F.A.C.E. Youth Interns), Maven Leadership Collective, Nyah Project, Startup FIU Food, and Andres Flores Bachata Dance Class.
Thanks to the generous support of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (GMCVB), the event will also feature a special guest, photographer Celia Roberts, who will take attendees on a journey to the farms, packing houses, and housing of farm workers as well as to the child care centers that care for migrant farmer children. From 7:00 – 8:30, hear Celia speak about her impressive photography taken over decades, and the imprints and contributions of farm workers and their families in American society. Her photography exhibit will be available to view from 4:00 – 9:00 at Venture Cafe Miami on the evening of May 25th.
