ThumbsUp International, in partnership with Love Button, will screen the documentary “May I Help You?”, by Julio Mendez. It is a powerful short documentary featuring Kerry Gruson, a severely disabled journalist, who is also a sports ‘aficionada’, and her female teammates in three key endurance sports events.

Together, the athletes expand attitudes about limitations and prove anything is possible. The film is about the interrelationship of giving and receiving – Kerry’s legacy. The documentary has won 4 Emmys! At the end, there will be an opportunity to discuss the importance of asking for help and the limits often imposed on what is possible in our lives.

The program includes time for the audience to engage in a Q and A with the director, his crew, and disabled and able-bodied athletes. The film’s many layered message has critical importance in today’s turbulent world.

The movie is suitable for all ages and lasts about 20 minutes. There is a large public parking garage next to the movie theater with hourly parking.
